History of Holi Festival
How it is being still celebrated........
Once upon a time that there was monster king named Hiranyakashyap who wanted all to have worshipped him like the God. Nevertheless his own son named Prahald wanted to pray to the God Vishnu instead. Despite threats to him, he neglected his father saying in order to adore his father. Being angrily, Hiranyakashyap tried to give punishments to Prahlad into various ways, but each time he was neither successful nor happy.
He then took advantage of the help of his daughter, Holika. She made Prahlad to sit with her on a pyre- she would be protected from the fire since she had a special cloak that shielded her from any harm. However, as the fire raged, the cloak flew away from Holika because of smoke, and protected Prahlad instead. Hence Holika died while Prahlad revived. This is why on Holi the conquest of good over evil is celebrated with many colours. This festival is still remained and will remain in the future too.
