“24 people held hostage by Hamas released”
The Red Cross, an organization involved in relief operations, confirmed the release of 24 people held hostage by Hamas. "We are pleased to confirm that the 24 hostages have been released safely," the Red Cross said in a social media post.
In another post, the organization said, "Playing a neutral role between the two sides, we took these hostages out of Gaza and brought them to the Rafah border in Egypt."
Earlier, according to reports in the Israeli media, it was said that Hamas had handed over 13 Israeli hostages to the Red Cross, an organization involved in relief work. Earlier, Hamas released some Thai hostages.
According to TV Channel 12, all the hostages have been taken to Egypt through the Rafah crossing. It is not yet clear where Hamas handed over the hostages to the Red Cross. Egypt has reported that the Israeli hostages have arrived in Egypt.
So far, Hamas has released 13 Israeli hostages. The Prime Minister of Thailand announced the release of 12 Thai citizens. On the other hand, the spokesman of Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which mediates between Hamas and Israel, said that 13 Israeli citizens, 10 Thais and one citizen of the Philippines were released.
