Wheat Cultivation/ Production by Zero Tillage Technology!!!

“Zero Tillage” refers to the pastoralist land on which no tillage is applied between crop and sowing. Zero tillage is a minimal tillage practice in which the crop is sown directly into soil not cultivated since the crop of the former crop.

According to the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), 15 to 25 percent more wheat is produced with zero tillage technology. It is said that the production will be 15 to 25 percent more than the traditional method.

The technology of sowing wheat with the help of zero till seed drill machine without plowing after harvesting the paddy of the field is called zero tillage technology. According to Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), when sowing wheat with zero till seed drill machine, there should be plenty of moisture in the field. If the wheel of the tractor does not break, wheat can be planted even in fields with high humidity. Narc has mentioned that for wheat cultivation, it should be till the ground.

If there is more weed in the field, at least 3 weeks before sowing, glyphosate 41 percent pesticide 5 m. L. At the rate of 20 liters of solution should be spread per liter of water.

According to Narak, generally from September to October, good yield can be obtained by sowing wheat. According to Narc, seeds with good fertility can be sown at the rate of 4 kg per bushel. Narc mentioned that if the moisture in the soil is high, it should be sown at a depth of about 1 inch and if the moisture is low, wheat can be sown at a depth of 2 to 3 inches.

Advantages of sowing wheat by zero tillage technique

- Protection of natural resources and resources,

-Wheat can be planted in fields that remain barren in winter due to cold weather.

- 15 to 25 percent more production than traditional method,

-Seeds and fertilizers can be spread in waves and require less water for irrigation.

- It is slow to plant wheat by plowing on cold land, it costs more, but by planting wheat on such land with zero tillage technology, wheat can be planted on time and at low cost.

- Wheat can be sown at 10 to 12 bushels per hour in 3 to 4 liters of diesel.

- Germination (growth) is good because the paddy field is not affected and seeds and fertilizers can be dropped at the same depth.

- When planting wheat with this technology, the production capacity will increase due to proper utilization of sewage water,

- Net profit is higher due to saving of mining money,

- The quality of the soil does not deteriorate and the problem of weeds in the planted crops is reduced.

Disadvantage of Zero Tillage

Using direct drilling, where the soil is not turned ahead planting, has a strike. It relies more on weed- killing chemicals because regular harrowing is not done to control weeds. This can harm the terrain by adding further chemicals to the soil and near areas.
